Sail around the reservoir with a boat. Picnicking there is popular due to its picturesque charm. Numerous wildlife species can be seen in the nearby forests. Local mythology has it that demons (Bhoothams) built the dam overnight with the intention of submerging the Trikkariyoor temple, but Lord Shiva thwarted their plan.
