Day 1: Arrival in Cochin and Drive to Munnar.
Your adventure begins in the vibrant city of Cochin, a city known for its history and culture. Upon your arrival, a warm welcome awaits from your dedicated tour guide. After a brief introduction to the itinerary, settle into your luxury MPV for a scenic drive to Munnar, known for its cool hills, tea plantations, and mountain breezes, approximately 130 km away (about 4 hours drive).
Days 2 & 3: Exploring Munnar.
Spend Days 2 & 3 exploring tea estates and local spice gardens with aromatic scents of cardamom, cinnamon, and clove. Visit Mattupetty Dam, with its stunning reservoir and Shola forest, where you can get a chance to spot the Sambar Deer or Nilgiri Tahr. The next day, we continue with more exploration of Eravikulam National Park, a home to the endangered Nilgiri tahr, and a return to overnight stays in Munnar, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature amidst the hills.
Day 4 & 5: Journey to Thekkady and Periyar Wildlife Safari.
Bid farewell to Munnar and drive approximately 90 km (about 3 hours) to Thekkady for a thrilling boat safari at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, spotting elephants and tigers, followed by an overnight stay. Day 5 offers more wildlife and spice plantation tours in Thekkady and activities like boating and optional cultural shows with an overnight stay.
Days 6 & 7: Thekkady to Kumarakom, houseboat experience.
On Day 6, travel 140 km (around 4 hours drive) to Kumarakom, often called the "Venice of the East". Drive to Kumarakom, a serene backwater village. Explore bird sanctuaries and enjoy resort leisure. Overnight in Kumarakom. Board a traditional Kerala houseboat for a day cruise with lunch through the backwaters, witnessing village life along the canals. Evening stay at a Kumarakom resort.
Day 8: Visit Kovalam via Jatayu Earth Centre and Varkala Beach.
After leaving Alleppey, drive approximately 175 km (about 5 hours drive) to Kovalam. Visit Jatayu Earth Centre along the way, a unique cultural site featuring the world's largest bird sculpture, Jatayu. Next stop is Varkala Beach, famous for its red cliffs and golden sands, with an overnight stay at a beachfront hotel.
Day 9: Kovalam and Trivandrum Sightseeing.
Day 9 begins with a relaxing morning in Kovalam Beach and then heads towards Trivandrum sightseeing, attractions like Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Napier Museum, and local markets. Overnight stay in Kovalam.
Day 10: Povar Island.
On day 10, enjoy a day trip to Povar, where the river meets the sea. Explore the golden sand beaches and the backwaters. Overnight stay at Kovalam.
Conclude on Day 11 with departure from Trivandrum or Cochin Airport.
